A Year in Review: Celebrating Achievements and Looking Forward

As we approach the end of an incredible year, All Paws on Deck reflects on the strides we’ve made together in supporting animals in need. This year has been filled with moments of compassion, community, and care—from supporting 15 organizations and countless animals across the nation through disaster relief efforts to helping pets find their forever homes—all made possible by people like you.

2024 Highlights

  • Emergency Response: Our efforts during Hurricane Helene focused on supporting the Deep Well Project and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, NC. Through our donation, the Deep Well Project provided essential assistance to over 250 families, helping them recover with critical supplies. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, which faced significant challenges due to the hurricane, continued their mission to care for animals in need with our financial support.

  • Supporting Veterans: This year, we proudly supported K-9s for Warriors, an organization dedicated to providing service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and trauma. As an organization with a board member who has proudly served in the United States Air Force and United States Army, this cause is close to our hearts. Our contribution helped fund the training and pairing of service dogs with deserving veterans, providing both companionship and a path toward healing.

  • Shelter Assistance: Our financial contributions empowered organizations like Cincinnati Animal CARE, Palmetto Animal League, Jasper Animal Rescue Mission, and Noah’s Arks Rescue to continue their vital work. Palmetto Animal League operates a no-kill rescue shelter, a community clinic, and a pet adoption center, ensuring medical care and loving homes for pets. Jasper Animal Rescue Mission rescues and rehabilitates stray, unwanted, and neglected animals, while Noah’s Arks Rescue specializes in helping abused animals requiring extensive medical care. Cincinnati Animal CARE provided critical adoption, fostering, and outreach services for homeless animals.

  • Animal Adoptions: Our financial support enabled organizations like the Humane Society of Savannah and Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue to continue their adoption efforts. The Humane Society of Savannah offers shelter and adoption services for animals in need, while Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue focuses on saving animals at risk of euthanasia and finding them loving homes. These partnerships directly contributed to increasing the number of animals finding forever families.

  • Community Education: With our support, organizations like the Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic expanded their educational campaigns, raising awareness about spaying, neutering, and responsible pet ownership. These initiatives have created lasting impacts by reducing overpopulation and promoting healthier pet communities. In addition to supporting these organizations, we also offer a dedicated Resources and Education section on our website. This section features a variety of research and articles produced by our team, covering topics such as animal care, responsible pet ownership, and insights into current animal welfare issues. By providing these resources, we aim to educate and empower individuals to make informed decisions that benefit animals and their communities.

  • Partnership Development: Our donations strengthened collaborations with groups such as the ASPCA and Animal Friends Humane Society. The ASPCA continues to lead the nation in animal rescue, protection, and placement, while Animal Friends Humane Society, the oldest shelter in Butler County, provides education programs and shelter services to reduce homelessness among pets. These organizations were able to continue their impactful work because of your support through us.

Looking Forward to 2025

Next year, we aim to:

  • Expand our support to underserved areas in need of resources.

  • Launch new community programs to engage volunteers and animal lovers.

  • Increase the number of animals helped through donations, fostering, and adoption events.

  • Enhance our educational initiatives to promote awareness of animal welfare.

Ways to Give This Holiday Season

As we celebrate the holidays and prepare for the year ahead, there are meaningful ways to make a lasting impact:

  • Monthly Automatic Donations: Consider setting up a recurring monthly donation. This steady support allows us to plan ahead and respond quickly when emergencies arise. Donations are tax-deductible, and you can even set it up as a thoughtful gift for someone who loves animals, making a year-round impact in their name.

  • Donate Supplies Directly to Us: We welcome donations of much-needed items such as pet food, toys, blankets, and grooming supplies.

  • Volunteer Your Time: Start the new year by pledging to volunteer with All Paws on Deck or a local rescue group.

  • Spread the Word: Share stories of success and hope on social media, such as recent adoptions, disaster recovery efforts, or volunteer achievements, to inspire others to join our mission.

Tips for a Pet-Safe Holiday

As you celebrate, don’t forget to keep your furry friends safe and comfortable. Here are a few reminders:

  • Avoid Toxic Foods: Keep holiday treats like chocolate, grapes, and onions out of reach.

  • Decorate Carefully: Pet-proof your decorations and avoid tinsel or breakable ornaments.

  • Offer a Quiet Space: Create a calm retreat for pets who may feel overwhelmed by guests or festivities.

  • Stay Warm: Ensure your pets are cozy indoors and limit outdoor exposure in cold weather.
